Artist Statement:

My paintings grow from two worlds that shape my life. Professionally, I work in the structured fields of accounting and law, where clarity, logic, and precision guide every decision. In contrast, painting is where I allow intuition, color, and emotion to lead. Art becomes a quiet counterbalance—a place where imagination can breathe.

Living in the tropical Philippines deeply influences my visual language. The islands are filled with lush vegetation, brilliant flowers, birds, and butterflies that appear almost dreamlike in their color and movement. These natural forms often find their way into my paintings, not simply as decorative elements, but as symbols of life’s cycles—growth, change, fragility, and renewal.

Many of my works center on the female figure surrounded by flourishing gardens of color. Flowers bloom from hair, butterflies hover near closed eyes, and birds rest among petals. These images represent the inner landscape of the self—thoughts, emotions, memories, and quiet transformations that take place beneath the surface. The women in my paintings often appear in moments of stillness or contemplation, suggesting a connection between inner peace and the rhythms of nature.

At other times, the flowers themselves become the subject – large, immersive forms that fill the canvas like living organisms. Petals flow into one another, color pulse and shift, and nature becomes both environment and metaphor.

My process is intuitive and layered. I build textures and colors gradually, allowing the painting to evolve much like a garden. Bright tropical hues—crimson, magenta, turquoise, and gold—reflect the warmth and vitality of island life while expressing emotional depth.

Through these works, I hope to celebrate the strength and quiet resilience of women, the richness of the natural world, and the beauty that emerges when discipline and imagination meet. Painting allows me to cultivate a space where order and creativity coexist, much like the balance I seek between my professional life and my artistic voice.

A celebration of flowers and petals in motion. This series captures the vivid exchange between flora and life that animates it. Birds, petals, and organic forms pulse with color and movement, dissolving the boundary between subject and environment. Each piece hums with energy—layered, expressive, and alive—where growth is not quiet, but radiant and dynamic.

This series shifts from inward dreaming to outward expression, where the natural world becomes a stage for rhythm, interaction, and abundance. Here, blooming is not a moment, but a continuous, vibrant unfolding.

This series explores the quiet space where inner life and the natural world begin to merge. Figures drift in and out of fields of flowers, insects, and color, suggesting a state between waking and dreaming where identity softens and becomes part of a larger, living system.

Across the works, blooming is both literal and symbolic—an unfolding of emotion, memory, and transformation. Pollinators, petals, and human forms exist in gentle exchange, creating a sense of intimacy, stillness, and quiet becoming.
